Hell is what you make of it

I’ve never assumed that anything was too appalling or too extraordinary for my readers. I’ve always assumed that my readers are as brave and foolhardy and sick as I am.

So, if you’re frightened of dying and… and you’re holding on, you’ll see devils tearing your life away. But if you’ve made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth.
